Storyline[]

Sareena is a demon of the Netherrealm. Prior to the main storyline, the Outworlder Quan Chi gained enough magical power to travel to the Netherrealm and subjugated Sareena to serve him along with her sisters Kia, Jataaka and Ashrah, founding the Sisterhood of Shadows. At some point, Ashrah escaped from Quan Chi and traveled to purify her soul using the kriss Datusha. Kia and Jataaka were sent to hunt Ashrah but were killed in the process leaving Sareena as the only remaining sister.
Sareena appeared with Quan Chi in the Living Forest to ignite their soul-stealing devices along with Nitara, Darrius and Havik. However, Ashrah, Baraka, Syzoth, Johnny Cage and Kenshi sabotaged the device despite Quan Chi trying to stop them by creating Ermac. Sareena managed to escape from the Forest and was seen with Nitara when Sub-Zero and Scorpion infiltrated the Ying Fortress, both Sareena and Nitara were defeated.
Ashrah returns to the Netherrealm to free Sareena of Quan Chi. With Liu Kang's help, she and Ashrah reunite and together form the Order of Light.
