Overview

Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge is an animated movie based on the popular Mortal Kombat series of fighting games by Warner Bros.

Plot

Hanzo Hashashi is taking his son, Satoshi, back to the Shirai Ryu village. There, they are ambushed by Lin Kuei warriors, who have already slaughtered the entire village. At the boat Johnny meets with Liu Kang, Sonya and Raiden, as they travel through the vail to reach the Island of Shang Tsung. Upon arrival, Shang Tsung hosts the attendants. Meanwhile, Scorpion manages to infiltrate inside the trasures of Shang Tsung, and is about to get the key, but is persuaded by Raiden not do it. Shang Tsung gives a demonstration of the tournament by capturing Jax and forcing him to face Goro. The latter succeds in defeat the former and rips his arms off. Raiden stops Jax's execution and warns Shang Tsung that this fight was the tournament has not been offically started yet. He is able to heal Jax's wounds, but Shang Tsung helds him prisioner. Shang Tsung then starts the Mortal Kombat, and uses his magic to teleport the attendants to face each other on the Island.

Johnny is teleported to a tower, where he defeats a tarkatan, destroying the tower in the process. Sonya is sent to a swamp, and there she defeats Reptile. At the forest, Scorpion kills a Lin Kuei warrior. At the Shang Tsung's Garden, Liu Kang defeats an outworlder assasin, but spare her life. In the awake of Earthrealm's success, Shan Tsung orders the Black Dragon to kill them. Liu Kang reunites with Sonya and Johnny, and later they meet Scorpion after killing a few Black Dragon members. Raiden appears and tells them they must enter the throne room to face the final kombat, but Black Dragon members will try to stop them. Upon reaching the bridge that leads to the throne room, the earthrealmers are ambushed by Kano and Black Dragon assassins. With the help of Scorpion, they manage to outstand the Black Dragon. Kano is pulled down by Sub-Zero, and Scorpion starts to battle him. Kano runs to the torture chamber, Sonya goes after him, while Johnny decides to help her and Liu Kang goes to the throne room.

Scorpion grabs Sub-Zero and throws themselves to the bridge's cliff, killing Sub-Zero and badly injuring himself. There Quan Chi appears and reveals to Scorpion that he desguised himself as Sub-Zero and ordered the Lin Kuei soldiers to exterminate the Shirai Ryu, tricking Scorpion. At the torture chamber, Kano is helding Jax hostage, and releases a horde of outworlders to fight Sonya. They easily outmatch her, but she is saved by Johnny. They are able to defeat the horde, free Jax and defeat Kano. As they are about to leave, Jax smashes Kano, apparently killing him.

The film was set to release in April 12th digitally, but due to unknown reasons, it was pushed to April 14th. The release on DVD and Blu-Ray is set to be in April 28th.

  • Kitana's voice actress in the movie, Grey Griffin was originally going to voice the character in Mortal Kombat X but she previously bowed out to the role due to her pregnancy with her second child at the time, leaving Karen Strassman reprising the role instead.
  • Goro's voice actor, Kevin Michael Richardson reprises his role for the first time in twenty-five years after voicing him in the 1995 film.
  • Patrick Seitz reprises his role as Scorpion after being replaced by Ron Yuan in Mortal Kombat 11.
