The comic series Mortal Kombat, published by Malibu Comics, was a short lived multi-arc comic line released in the mid-1990s at the height of the game series' popularity. While adapting part of the game's story in several issues, Malibu was given freedoms and liberties to develops their own stories and the characters in different directions from their in-game counterparts.
