The Lost Hive of The Kytinn is an arena that debuted in Mortal Kombat 11.
It is mentioned in the game’s story mode to have been the ancestral home of D’Vorah.
Overview[]
The main interior of the hive is situated deep underground in Outworld, with the arena being the main chamber where a long dead, massive queen Kytinn is seen in the background. The hive features many living Kytinn arachnids moving about in the background, as well as a massive centipede-like creature, while large egg sacs, cocoons and webbing hang from the ceiling. Many other smaller glowing insects fly about. Two dead Kytinn of similar build to D'Vorah can also be seen hanging dead from broken cocoons near the dead queen. Small mushrooms litter the ground.
It is here that Shao Kahn mentions having once burned this hive out, which suggests it was restored by Kronika's temporal manipulations, and where the former Kahn learns of his own death at Raiden and the Elder Gods' hands, as well as his daughter Mileena's death by D'Vorah.
Interactions[]
The Hive features six arena interactions. From farthest left to right they are as follows:
- A large egg sac that can be stomped on, releasing a poisonous cloud to injure the opponent.
- Three white eggs clumped together that can thrown one at a time.
- A stinger ripped from a dead Kytinn hanging in a cocoon that can used to strike the opponent, then impale them in the abdomen.
- A large leech like creature can be ripped off a dead Kytinn and thrown at the opponent.
Trivia[]
- When selecting Johnny Cage's Announcer voice and selecting this stage in the stage selection, he calls it "A Bug's Death", which is a reference to the 1998 Disney-Pixar Film A Bug's Life.
