Katara Vala is a minor character who appears in Mortal Kombat 1, appearing in Johnny Cage's Chapter as a reskin of Havik. He serves as the titular main antagonist of the fictional film, Temple of Katara Vala and as such appears in the Treasure Chamber arena.
Mortal Kombat 1
After being awaken by the Tomb Raider and Adam, Katara Vala scared Adam off as he falls into the mercury rivers below, killing him instantly. He attempts to kill the Tomb Raider as he tries to take the shield away, but the death of Adam angered the latter enough to start a fight between the two.
Katara Vala and the Tomb Raider would briefly fight, before he gets decapitated by his own shield at the hands of the Tomb Raider.
Triva
- As with many reskinned non-playable characters in the Story Mode, Katara Vala is a reskin of Havik, and as such uses his assets for gameplay purposes.
- A Katara Vala skin would later be available for Havik for players to wear.
- Katara Vala's appearance is a callback to Havik's klassic attire.
- Katara Vala is voiced by Jacob Craner, Havik's voice actor for Mortal Kombat 1.
