Hidden Blades are blade types that are hidden within the confides of clothing, armor or other accessories to allow for secret attacks with the blades. These blade range from small to extremely large blades that allow for unorthodox fighting styles due to how they are used.
Kano is notorious for using hidden blades within arsenal of Butterfly Knives. In Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11, Kano has equipped himself with elbow guards and boots that feature hidden blades that he uses for a wide variety of attacks. Kano's elbow blades specifically are featured as a Unique Equipment Card in Mortal Kombat Mobile that has been reworked and revised over the years due to their powerful effects.
Mavado utilizes similar hidden blades in his boots in his appearance in Mortal Kombat 1, however unlike Kano's boots where the blade protrudes from the sides, Mavado's are small sharp blades that extend from the heels, due to his useage of kicking and stomping on his opponent's.
