Storyline

In restarting the timeline, Liu Kang wanted to ensure the realms would not fall into the same conflicts as he had previously experienced. In doing so, after seizing control of The Hourglass, Liu Kang forged the destinies of many past villains, such as Havik, making him a denizen of Orderrealm, as Chaosrealm does not exist, preventing the insanity of anarchy from Chaosrealm from polluting other realms. However, Havik grows tiresome of Orderrealm's oppressive government and sets out to free his people through the influence of anarchy. To achieve this, he begins interacting with Quan Chi, an Outworld miner-turned sorcerer that grants Havik an extraordinary healing factor at the cost of helping Quan Chi's own goals.

Mortal Kombat 1

Part 1: Mortal Kombat 1

Discovering they have a common enemy, the Earthrealm Champions, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao and Kenshi, alongside renegades Baraka and Syzoth ally with each other on a mission to stop the sorcerer Shang Tsung. On their journey, they meet the demoness Ashrah, who joins them in stopping Quan Chi after she reveals that he and Shang Tsung are allies. Venturing through the Living Forest, they encounter Havik, his fellow Seidan Darrius and others along with Quan Chi. A fight breaks out, with Havik engaging both Baraka and Ashrah. They are interrupted when Quan Chi finishes the Soul Stealer, transferring the souls of the Living Forest into the construct Ermac. As Ermac attacks, Havik and Darrius fight Ashrah but are defeated. The Champions defeat Quan Chi and Ermac, where the construct flees while they apprehend the sorcerer.

As later events transpire, Havik and his allies regroup at the Ying Fortress to help Quan Chi, who escaped custody of the Earthrealmers, with the remaining Soul Stealers in Earthrealm. There, the fortress is invaded by the Lin Kuei, but this backfires when the Grandmaster Bi-Han betrays his brothers. Forced to retreat, Kuai Liang encounters many of Quan Chi's allies including Havik in his escape. He fights Havik and Darrius, who try to kill him in molten metal, but Kuai Liang fights back, horribly disfiguring Havik's face in the process, giving him a similar appearance to his previous timeline counterparts. Kuai Liang defeats them, and escapes the fortress and Havik is not seen again.

After the revelation of multiple timelines, Liu Kang forms a new Forces of Light to kombat an alternate version of Shang Tsung that had been meddling with the timeline by bringing in Titans and kombatants from other timelines to aid him in the upcoming battle. Havik joins neither side, however other timeline counterparts of his participate in the upcoming battle.

Liu Kang arrives in Titan Shang Tsung's timeline with his Forces of Light to battle Titan Shang Tsung's Forces of Darkness. A battle ensues with kombat and death all around. Titan Shang Tsung summons a Titan version of Quan Chi, thus reforming The Deadly Alliance for the battle at hand. As the battle wages to the top of the Pyramid, a good version of the Deadly Alliance briefly fight the Titan Deadly Alliance before being quickly killed. At the top, the Titans fight Liu Kang and an ally, only to be bested by Liu Kang's ally in kombat. Liu Kang uses his Temporal Power to erase both Titans, but in doing so, causes the timeline seemingly begins to collapse. Running out of time, Liu Kang sends his ally back to their respective timeline before doing so with himself.

Back in their timeline, Havik returns to Seido to continue his plan of toppling its government. Unbeknownst to everyone, Titan Shang Tsung's timeline did not collapse, with a Titan variant of Havik basking in the glory of the chaos and anarchy of the battle. With different variants of kombatants at his side, he kills a variant of Jax Briggs, promising to not miss the next battle to come.

Part 2: Khaos Reigns

Titan Havik infiltrates Liu Kang's timeline during a trial in Outworld held against Bi-Han and Sektor. His forces are confronted by the Umgadi but they successful capture Geras. Letting his ego get the best of him, Bi-Han charges through the portal to stop them as it closes, much to Sektor's dismay. At his Citadel, Titan Havik begins experimenting on Geras, seeking the Time Crystals within his being to infuse them with the Kamidogu he has amassed. The combined powers of the Kamidogu allow Titan Havik to warp and change the reality of his timeline, but by infusing Geras's Time Crystals with the Kamidogu, he can shape the realities of any timeline he wishes due to Geras's Time Crystals connecting him to all other current timelines in the multiverse. Titan Havik then tortures Bi-Han and transforms him to a being of chaos called Noob Saibot.

Having infiltrated Titan Havik's timeline, Kuai Liang, Sektor and Cyrax stumble upon other variants of characters within Titan Havik's timeline, including a variant of Johnny Cage and Rain that help them in their mission to free Geras and find Bi-Han. They look to find this Rain's wife, a variant of Tanya force to fight in the Khaoseum. Making their way to Titan Havik's Khaoseum, where thousands of Havik variants watch the bloodshed of kombatants fighting to the death in the arena. The group are spotted by a chaos variant of Kenshi and forced to fight other timeline variants to the death as Titan Havik watches on. After killing their kombatants, the group escape into a chaotic, booby-trapped filled tunnel system known as The Maze, where more variants fight the group as Titan Havik broadcasts it to his variants. They manage to escape the traps at the cost of Rain's life. In the Maze, Tanya interacts with a variant of Orin, who communicates with the Tanya and transports them to the Citadel, much to Havik's anger.

At the Citadel, they encounter the transformed Bi-Han and defeat him. They free Geras, bring Bi-Han with and steal the Kamidogu as they retreat back to their timeline to inform Liu Kang. Although his mind is cleansed of the chaos influence, his body was not. Titan Havik, seeing his artifacts have been stolen and Geras freed, invades Liu Kang's timeline, destroying most of the Fire Temple and retrieving his Kamidogu. Having charged the artifacts, Titan Havik imbues them into his body, granting him even more Godly power than before. He and his forces head to The Gateway where he begins to transfer his influence of chaos to other timelines. Liu Kang and his Champions arrive and intercept Titan Havik, defeating his chaos variants. Titan Havik then begins to sever his own limbs, spawning dozens of clones of himself that fight Liu Kang's forces while Liu Kang and Bi-Han engage the Titan himself. Having knowledge of Titan Havik's abilities from his influence of chaos, Bi-Han defeats Titan Havik with his new abilities. He begins severing Titan Havik's limbs to the point that his healing factor cannot keep up, rendering him defeated. Bi-Han, wanting to kill Titan Havik, is stopped by Liu Kang, as his death would not only destroy Titan Havik's timeline, but all the timelines he had merged with his. Having been defeated, Titan Havik is banished to the Void, stripped of his limbs and the Kamidogu.

Endings

  • Mortal Kombat 1 (Canonical): "Quan Chi's defeat had cost me everything. For months I had furthered his plot, and now I had to start over. Seido's people were still in chains. That's when Rain approached me. On the run from Empress Mileena, he was desperate for help. And though I'd had my fill of sorcerers, this one was different. I agreed to provide him safe haven. He agreed to help topple Seido's government. And topple it we did. Rain summoned a wave so vast, so powerful, that it crushed the capital. Seido's fascist rulers were swept away. My people are finally free. They can chart their own course, needing only to follow their own desires. Their lives are now blessed by anarchy."
