The Fengjian (风间) Teahouse, also known as The Tea House, is an arena set in Earthrealm's Fengjian, China for Mortal Kombat 1.
Overview
The Tea House is Fengjian's heart and soul. Villagers gather here to relax, gossip, and enjoy Madam Bo's homestyle cookery. Raiden and Kung Lao are notable customers and are later recruited by Liu Kang.
Trivia
- Although the official name of the stage is Fengjian Teahouse, during the character selection screen, the announcer simply refers to this stage as The Tea House.
- In Daytime Stage, a remix of a character select screen music from the original Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II as well as a remix of Kombat Tomb can be heard.
- Fengjian is Chinese for "Wind interval".
- There are several Easter Eggs within the Teahouse;
- Customers and workers will mind their own business throughout the arena, however once the kombatants engage kombat in their area of the restaurant, they will react, whether this be in excitement, fear or just to view the ongoing fight.
- The more intense the kombat gets, the more they react.
- In the Daytime Stage, Madam Bo can be seen in the left side of the arena. Once the fighters begin to fight, she appears and begins berating them for disrupting business.
- In both version of the arena, two men will react to the fight, with one filming on his smart phone while other pleads with him they should leave.
- During the Nighttime Stage, the men will immediately react to the fighters, even if no kombat has started.
- In the right side of the arena, a couple are enjoying drinks, with the boyfriend becoming increasingly drowsy.
- In the Nighttime Stage, when all the pedestrians and employees are gone, one can find the boyfriend passed out at his table. He will not react to the fighters or kombat at hand.
- A poster with the Dragon Logo can be seen under a TV in the middle of the stage.
- Said TV will have an advertisement on it, however it shows an error message when playing on the Nighttime Stage.
- On the right side of the arena, in a similar arena to the TV, there is a spot with several pictures;
- A poster of Madam Bo. Underneath her picture is an unidentified person.
- Below the poster shows a picture of Kano and his younger counterpart from Mortal Kombat 11.
- Below the picture of the Kanos shows Hanzo Hasashi and Kuai Liang, again from Mortal Kombat 11.
