I mean... I thought he was talking about the fact that on Bi-Han's page, it says in his fighting characteristics that he can "possess anyone or anything".
So it's actually Combat Characteristics and not Fighting Characteristics, but who cares? Also, I don't see where it says that. I looked at it and doesn't say anything about "possess anyone or anything". It talks about shadow powers and his projectiles but that's it.
You are indeed correct, Dragon. On both fronts. I just looked again and it does not say that in his Combat Characteristics. However, it did 24 hours ago. So someone was on their game and this thread is no longer an issue. :)
An added note that I feel I have to say... I typed out "Combat Characteristics" from memory, then thought it looked wrong, because "Combat" wasn't spelled with a 'K", so I changed it to "Fighting". Thank you for correcting me.
Unless I'm missing something and the information in this Wiki is updated on a regular basis in regards to character bios and MK lore, I have never read anything pertaining to Noob Saibot possessing anyone.
Anything that alludes to Noob Saibot being able to "possess" a character in any capacity has more to do with Noob nullifying or controlling his opponent's abilities, and less to do with him controlling their entire person, physically or mentally.
"In Mortal Kombat Trilogy, his (Noob Saibot's) powers seem to be revolving around both shadow and phantom. With the phantom powers, Noob Saibot was able to remove and control a kombatant's powers using a ghastly force in the form of projectile attacks, as well as being able to lift them in the air. His prominent powers are of the shadowy element, being able to completely manipulate it and possessing the ability to teleport as well as render himself invisible by blending in with the shadows. He was also able to manipulate the shadows to increase or decrease the effectiveness of his and others' powers limitlessly."
I already removed the possessing part in his page, if you haven't noticed. Noob doesn't possess his opponent's minds or manipulated their actions at least and he never did at any of the games. Someone close this thread, it has been concluded.
Yes, I concur.
Looking at this again, I do like the idea of a character being able to possess his opponents and use their powers on themselves. Like if you possessed Raiden then you could perform one his electric powers and it would just aim at himself.
Quan Chi can kinda do that, except without the "using their powers on themselves" part.
@Dragonspyne -- "Looking at this again, I do like the idea of a character being able to possess his opponents and use their powers on themselves. Like if you possessed Raiden then you could perform one his electric powers and it would just aim at himself."
I don't. It seems too hammy and ridiculous to be able to force an opponent to perform their special moves on themselves.
"Right. But I think it would be a great replacement for Shang Tsung. The point being that the character could perform every characters' moves like Shang Tsung or even Shujinko."
They already tried to rip-off Shang Tsung's ability to copy other characters with Shinnok in MK4 and Shujinko in Deception.
So, I would then challenge the idea that this character is a fighter of his/her own abilities and the possession power is just another move that character could perform. Your point of Shinnok from MK4 and then Shujinko, as good of points as they are, I would say that if the character is more diverse and not just a cheapo copy that only performs other character moves then there would be a pretty good shot for potential.
