I found this out awhile back a few years ago, but it was only recent that I decided to speak up since I never saw any info about it on the internet. Basically, I use a program called PPSSPP to play emulated PSP games. One of the emulated games I play a lot is Mortal Kombat: Unchained. While using cheats in the emulator, you can access game characters that the player would never normally be able to fight or play as. I used this same program to get the angle shots of Monster that I updated awhile back, and they're still there to this day.
With my curiosity, I found what appeared to be multiple MK2 fights that was in the game, but only accessible through cheats. What I found (and what is currently my theory) is the reminisce of scrapped MK2-li…Read more >

Man, it's been awhile since I've been on here. So many memories on this website, this use to be a hobby for me and seeing how I've grown, matured and changed in terms of using the internet and wikia, it's made me a bit sad. Hi I'm new here and thanks for having me. There's so much more to this game then just a few fighting rounds. I'm Amazed at the vastness of the MK universe.
The ideas that Encompass the Mortal Kombat universe are so far-reaching and offer light and insight into very human ideas. I honestly had no idea until I checked out a few pages on the wiki. Now I can see why this game has said such a draw not only on myself but a huge audience from 1992 to the present day.
When it comes to the game my favorite character is Sub-Zero, and he just so happens to have such a robust story that I have a lot to learn about this guy, Kuai Lang. I'm looking forward to getting to know this character. Before today and yesterday all I knew about the characters we're …Read more >
I was wondering if it would be cool if we add to some characther articles links to Youtube videos that sumarizes his/hers stories.
Maybe some of you already know the channel History Behind the Warrior , that guy reviews every character of fighting games (one video per char) and he already covered almost all MK characters, he almost complete street fighter, and now he is on tekken and sometimes he reviews an SNK char.
I was thinking about embedding his MK characther reviews videos into each charachter article, what you think?
I particulary like the ideia of using as many diferent forms of media to convey information to the audience, and audio/video is a perfect media for those who don´t have the patience or time to read!

Because I do Top 10s on another wiki, might as well start a new one here. Of course, to kick it off, I'm going to count down what makes Mortal Kombat "Mortal Kombat": fatalities. These are the best and most iconic of the bunch and I'm grading them on three criteria: satisfaction, violence, and creativity. I'm only considering fatalities since most of the other variations don't meet the requirement. Besides, it's not like an animality is going to be more impressive than a fatality. This is also my opinion, so please don't rant i you're fatality isn't on this list. Anyways, here are the Top 10 Fatalities in Mortal Kombat.
To no surprise, this fatality makes this list and why not: it's the first fatality ever discovered, not counting the pit. …

Over the past few weeks I've noticed a great deal of comments on articles being full of nonsense such as how a character should return, how they're bad, how you like them, how you want them to be in the next game. I've grown tired of removing such comments, so I feel a blog is necessary to create.
Article comments are NOT for these comments, they're for bringing up errors on the pages or how to improve them, not how you hate this character or how you want them to return. This is becoming something of an ongoing issue over the past few weeks and I'm tired of moderating these sections and removing completely irrelevent comments.
I'm creating this blog, simply as a request to keep the article comments clean from such comments as it can clutter …Read more >

For the past month or so, we've had a massive influx of shitposting, bad edits and just general bullshit from anons (Wikia contributors), and as such the staff, including me, are leaning towards the decision of disabling them. That, as well as article comments, have been an absolute nightmare, and it's been more out of hand than usual as of late, so we'll be disabling that too.
So, the point of this blog is to act as a notification. This is absolutely going to happen unless people make their case and prove this isn't the right option. But, I don't see that happening at all. Really though, if the handful of you anons that contribute care enough, you'll make accounts anyway, so this isn't much of an issue.

Hello again MK Wiki!
We had a chance last week to sit down with Brian Goodman, Marketing Game Manager at NetherRealm Studios, and ask him some of your questions about Mortal Kombat X. We also had a chance to spend some hands-on time with the game and check out the new Faction Wars mode.
The Faction Wars mode tracks the player's progress over the course of a week and awards them faction points for their accomplishments in both single and multiplayer. At the start of every week, players choose one of five factions: Special Forces, Black Dragon, White Lotus, Lin Kuei, or The Brotherhood of the Shadow. Choosing a faction reskins the game's menus in the style of that faction for the week. Factions are both region and platform agnostic, so the wee…

Currently, at the time of this blog, nearly every Arena page looks pretty.. god awful. There are a few excellent ones, but most are poorly worded, full of misplaced images, lacking content, etc.
So, I'm making this blog to ask some of you guys for a little help in perfecting the arena pages and making them the main editing focus for a while, then maybe if this goes splendidly we can move on to bigger projects (the weapon pages).
- Fix any grammar and/or punctuation mistakes
- Fix any misplaced images
- Possibly implement a template for all Arenas
- Add more information to Arena pages with barely anything
- Give every Arena page a solid outline/look
This page is the best example of what an Arena page should look like…

As of today, and from now on, all MKX discussion will be made in their respectful discussions in the MKX boards. Blogs will now be used for discussion of the wiki itself, such as the blog you're reading right now.
The purpose of this change is to stop the overflow of blogs over the same topics. And, with the forums, we can make one solid discussion of whatever in the MKX board (example: MKX Spoiler Discussion) and all further talk of that specific discussion will take place there.
For blogs, you can discuss anything as long as it has to do with the wiki. For instance, say I'm unsatisfied with all the character pages and want to ask the community what they think should be done, such as leaving it alone or making drastic changes. The admins wi…Read more >
Mortal Kombat X's roster at E3 2014 only had 24 character slots, but according to Polygon.com, we will be getting more than that. We already knew the roster wasn't final, with the character silhouettes being place holders, and the fact that since the game isn't finished, there could always be more. But Polygon released an article about the game, in the article, it says this:
"Boon says Mortal Kombat X will have a roster at least as big as the last Mortal Kombat — which shipped with nearly 30 fighters — and that "obviously" downloadable characters will follow."
This is awesome, because I really was only expecting 24. I knew that would make since, because when Injustice's roster was shown, there was 24 slots, and 24 characters made it into the…Read more >
Greetings, my friends.
Do you know how a prophecy works?
A prophecy is a promise of end, and not of circunstance.
If something is said to happen, it does not matter how it happens, if this is not mentioned, what truly matters is the end, something Machiavelli would always be pleased to see again and again.
MKX is said, by Ed Boon himself, to be a story to be told in a timespan of 25 years after MK9, but not exactly two and a half decades then, but in a timeline of 5 years, then 10 years, and finally 25.
On the first and "original" timeline, Shinnok invaded Earthrealm in a scheme planned since his fall and conducted by us on MKM: SZ, but it came some time after Shao Kahn's trilogy. This was not a prophecy, but a plan, what does not mean it could…Read more >
Hello boys and ghals(if there's any lol), i was looking some interviews about MKX and as a lot of you might already know, Ed Boon confirmed that the roster shown at E3 was a placeholder, maybe he was talking about the design, the slots, the shadows in the slots, etc, so anyway, he said that the character slots we're to separated so that could enable them to put in some more slots in the spaces to fill, so i decided to fill them till no more could be added with the already shown design with my poor photoshop skills and made this:
1.-As you can see, i've added way more slots, the main slots would be the two rows of 15 slots and the DLC would be the row on top, with 11 slots (10 MK characters and a guest character) so as you can see, the added…Read more >
Smoke may, or may not have been spotted on Mortal Kombat X's character select screen. A thread on Test Your Might was posted, and showed a image of one of Kotal Kahn's variations called "Sun God". When you are selecting a variation, it shows an animation of something that variation can do, and in Kotal Kahn's case, it did. It shows him picking up someone, and slamming them into the ground. But that isn't the thing, the person he was picking up was grey, and had smoke coming out of his hands. A user on Test Your Might called "Zmoke" also gave some convincing evidence on why he thinks it's Smoke:
- 1 Your opponent doesn't leave a trail of smoke normally when he/she is thrown, as seen in E3 gameplay.
- 2 The unknown figure leaves two gray trails of…

TRMK got to interview Ed Boon, during the interview, Ed gave us some new details on MKX. One of the new details was about weather or not we will see a Mortal Kombat 4 character in Mortal Kombat X.
"Fans expect this game to follow the storyline of MK4 and beyond, but it looks like you are taking the story in another direction. Will fans see some familiar faces from the series they haven’t seen yet in MK9?"
"You will definitely see a Mortal Kombat 4 character, I believe that's the first time I've said that. You will also see some of the later game's fighters. You'll also see cameo's in the story mode. Some really fun ones."
So, basically, we WILL be getting at least one MK4 character, as well as some characters from the later games …

To avoid further confusion, I'm making this blog in regards to the Mortal Kombat X, Ferra & Torr, Cassie Cage, D'Vorah and Kotal Kahn pages.
Until further notice, these pages will be kept as they are until we have enough information to build the proper foundations of these character pages. As for the game's page, we'll keep it updated with whatever primary information comes around, but until then, any interpretations or assumptions are being kept out (such as anything detailing Sub-Zero's identity without proof).

Inspired by Gamer68's post, I want to write down my list of what do I expect from MK X.
Starting from what we already seen in the two trailers, I can say there will be from 3 to 6 new characters. In my opinion, the roster should contain at least 36 characters who should be:
- Scorpion (already confirmed; hope to be the protagonist of the story)
- Sub Zero (already confirmed; is he back from the dead?)
- Ogre-and-dwarf character (seen in E3 trailer)
- Bugs queen character (E3 trailer)
- Water cyborg character (E3 trailer; Hydro?)
- New Character
- Sonya Blade
- Johnny Cage
- Shang Tsung
- Liu Kang
- Kung Lao
- Smoke (all characters, from Shang to Smoke, and Sub Zero, are back from the dead and mind-controlled)
- Quan Chi

Oh no another MKX blog, so excessive.
Jokes aside, as many of you folks are aware, MKX has been announced, but for now may I stress. Please, do not create a page for it. We're currently waiting for more information on the game and when we get more a page will be created. It feels kinda pointless to create a page right now as we've only got a confirmation on the game, two characters, a rather vague release date (2015) SOME mechanics which may (or may not) be in the game.
It'd also be appreciate if images from the trailer weren't added into pages until the page for Mortal Kombat X is created with a good amount of information, the images can be uploaded on the wiki for time keeping.
