Now Bai Wuchang should be the next guest added in the future Mortal Kombat game. What do you think of this potential chance for her as DLC in a fighting game?

By support I mean the longevity of the game and the content put out for it…
Mortal Kombat 1 has only been out for 2 years and they've cut the cord for it..there was and is definitely more content that could've been created. I feel like we barely got a taste of what it could've and should've been.
Also i bring up Tekken and Street Fighter because it seems they get content for much longer than Mortal Kombat, though im not the biggest player of those games but from the outside looking in it seems like they last much longer. Shit they both released titles around the same time as Mortal Kombat 1 and they are still going…Meanwhile we're just dead over here.
Here are few examples of beefs that existed or were hinted at being planned in the Midway era that have yet to be revisited in the NRS era. I used to love reading the bios in the games and finding out why characters were involved, and I particularly loved when it was because they had business to settle with another member of the roster. I feel like we've kinda lost a bit of that with Story Mode.
But as a rivalry-fan, I'm curious if anyone was interested in any of these re-entering the spotlight or had other examples of beefs they would like to see return?
They are toying with this in the past games, and I think it's very welcome and really lets you make characters your own. But it's still been pretty hit and miss in execution.
First of all, I would want all of it to be purely cosmetic. No gear stats involved in any way. Unlocking it should also be fun, not an endless grind and certainly not through micro transactions. I am not against themed costume packs DLC however if the price is reasonable.
Kombat League skins or such they could release later as paid DLC in a package for a few bucks.
Bot onto the actual customization: I would like to see the following options there.
-Body. This includes different skins, hairstyles, tattoos. scars, facial hair, etc. and can also be a different version of a character with it's own dialogue. Like a revenant, or Sub-Zero being able to be either Bi-Han or Kuai Liang and both would have all other customization options available and would have their own dialogue in fights.
-Outfit. The main outfit of the character, just a full suit without the gear pieces. Allows it to be detailed, if it's in too much pieces it would likely be underwhelming and basic like in Injustice 2. All characters should have a variety of outfits, and more options should be given outside of the usual few. Like returning 3D characters could get their old outfits as well, and guests could get more outfits too.
-Three gear pieces in total that are very visible on the character. I think Mortal Kombat 11 had the right amount for it, but for some characters you could barely see some of it and too often the variety was poor too. Weapons should always be a set if they have more, using the same customisation slot, that way both the very visible and the stuff they only show during certain moves would still get a customised look. Headgear could be a lot more varied too, like someone who mostly has ninja masks should always have a full face covering mask with that as well, and someone with sunglasses could also have some options including a hat.
-Outfit shaders. MK11 wastes a lot of space on reskins in both gear and outfits. Injustice 2 and MK1 do that better, though I would have the body separate from it as mentioned earlier.
-Powers. This would be completely new and lets you change the colours of a characters powers, like the colour of Raiden's lightning. It might also change the sound effects. For characters without powers like that it can change things like their ammunition. Like letting Erron Black shoot lasers, plasma bolts, and various bullets with different sounds.
-Intros and outros. I think it was a nice touch in Mortal Kombat 11. While I don't mind dialogue before fights being shortened to one line, the intros and outros are keepers I think.
As for how all this could be obtained through gameplay, I would not want it to be too complicated and not locked behind impossible towers, online play or high difficulty.
Some could be unlocked through story mode, simply finishing the story, things that would be spoilers.
Finishing arcade mode with each character could also unlock something.
Winning a certain number of fights, doing a certain number of fatalities, certain number of brutalities, stuff like that could also unlock things.
Defeating a specific fighter a set number of times could also unlock options, can be a great way to unlock gear or outfits that could be a trophy or otherwise related to who they defeat. Like Kenshi unlocking an ice katana after beating Sub-Zero 50 times.
Most of it you could simply unlock by playing enough, automatically. They should ditch the towers with all the modifiers either way, those are not fun. I think most people just let AI do that anyway.
The crypt should also unlock things of course, though I rather they do get rid of invisible chests since it is just not fun to search every inch of the crypt with a blindfold.
Only the Kombat League stuff could be harder to obtain, but still available for free through play and can be bought some months after the season ends.
No, I don't mean DLC. I miss the 3d era when characters were unlockable via Konquest, Storys Mode or Alternate game modes. It boosted my appreciation of the characters I'd unlocked and got me to try out more than just my mains. Keep players invested in the game for a longer period. Thoughts?
I honestly hope so. Mortal Kombat doesn't feel the same anymore without Brutalities. As for Gear pieces, please give us more options and multiple pieces, just like Mortal Kombat 11 and Injustice 2.
What characters do you think we should see in the next mortal kombat game and do you want to see in the dlc packs?
