Baraka (Current Timeline)

So, we know that Baraka, and possibly every tarkatan from the old timeline is now infected with a disease named Tarkat. But why would Liu Kang create such a thing? It's possible he made the Tarkatan race not exist as they were a big army of evil in previous timeline, hence why he made them normal outworlders. But why would he then create Tarkat?

We have a theory that it wasn't Liu Kang who created it, but instead Shang Tsung, specifically the Titan one.

Think about it, Titan Shang Tsung is basically a god as much as Liu Kang, and he wanted his new timeline counterpart to get in a good place in Outworlds rankings to convince members like Shao and Rain to join him. So he created Tarkat either before meeting himself, or afterwards, and possibly infected Mileena as well. The family would want a cure, and Shang Tsung would make it, and gain access to the royal family and the members with it, which would put Titan Shang Tsung plan into motion.
