<figcaption> </figcaption></figure><p>Hello, I'm Agent Maroon78 and although I'm new to the wikia, I love the <i>Mortal Kombat</i> franchise. I've noticed a few speculations about characters to be in <i>Mortal Kombat X</i> and I have a theory of a "new" character, which several others on different websites sharing the same idea. The character is none other then Jubei Hasashi, son of Hanzo Hasashi, better known as Scorpion. You might say this is impossible due to the Shirai Ryu massacre, but I have several supporting facts that can truly make this possible and I have an idea of what his character would be like in the game.

<figcaption> </figcaption></figure><p>So if say, a friend of Hanzo's rescued the infant Jubei before escaping the village, they could have gone into hiding, leaving only those to <i>assume</i> they died. This would mean Jubei isn't only alive, but received training to become a full fledged ninja of his clan during the 25 years after the tournament and massacre. Now the question is who would save Jubei and train him? Well as many know, there will be a comic book for <i>MKX</i>, mainly focusing on Scorpion's live before his death and when he's a wraith. One of the leaked sketches for the comic book show another Shirai Ryu member, who is confirmed to be a close friend of Hanzo, named Forest Fox. Why would they give information about this character when he serves as an important role in the comic? Beats me, but it's very interesting.
</p><p>Besides these, it's been stated by the developers of Mortal Kombat that they want to introduce ninjas not in the Lin Kuei anymore but from different clans; while also hinting at introducing more from the Shirai Ryu. With the comic focusing on Scorpion, how the Shirai Ryu massacre occurred still a mystery, the 25 year time gap from <i>MK2011</i> to <i>MKX</i>, and the developers hints, it's quite possible that we can see Jubei as an adult (25 to 27 years old) as a playable character in <i>MKX</i>. His role would certainly be important in the game, as he seeks the truth of his clan's destruction while joining the defenders of Earthrealm, which would eventually lead to him meeting his father and the latter finally avenging his clan by killing Quan Chi.

<h2><span class="mw-headline" id="Ninja_Name">Ninja Name</span></h2>
<p>While I believe Jubei will appear in <i>MKX</i>, I highly doubt he'll be using his own name when participating in the tournament. I believe NetherRealm Studios will hide his identity in order to make it a plot twist and the fact all ninja characters have a recurring theme in terms of name. If you haven't noticed, the Lin Kuei base their names on non-living things relating to their skill and family (example: Bi-Han and Kuai Liang are brothers with ice powers, so they are called Sub-Zero and Tundra). Now, we don't have many names of ninjas in the Shirai Ryu, but we do know 2 members: Hanzo who goes by Scorpion, and his recently introduced friend who goes by Forest Fox. This would suggest that the Shirai Ryu name themselves after animals. Thus, it's likely Jubei will be called an animal with relation to his father's or his sensei's name. This is just my idea, but I can see 2 different possible names.

<p>Although this is a somewhat useless section to bring up, I think it should be mentioned. In the MK franchise, it can be considered there will always be a ninja for each color of the rainbow and represent a specific element. All their models started out as palette swaps in the original MK trilogy, with the only difference being their powers. Now, since Jubei would most likely be a ninja, he would follow this pattern to some extent. So, let's go through the current list (I'm not including Cyrax or Sektor since they first appeared as cyborgs).
</p>
<table border="1" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" class="article-table" style="margin: 0px auto; width: 500px; height: 350px;"><tr><th>Scorpion
</th><th>Yellow
</th><th>Fire
</th></tr><tr><th>Sub-Zero
</th><th>Blue
</th><th>Ice
</th></tr><tr><th>Reptile
</th><th>Green
</th><th>Acid/Animal
</th></tr><tr><th>Noob Saibot
</th><th>Black
</th><th>Darkness
</th></tr><tr><th>Smoke
</th><th>Gray
</th><th>Wind/Smoke
</th></tr><tr><th>Ermac
</th><th>Red
</th><th>Soul/Telekinesis
</th></tr><tr><th>Rain
</th><th>Purple
</th><th>Water/Lightning
</th></tr><tr><th>Chameleon
</th><th>Rainbow(?)
</th><th>Everything(?)
</th></tr><tr><th>Tremor
</th><th>Brown
</th><th>Earth
</th></tr></table><p>Okay, from this list, we can see that a lot of key colors and elements have been taken by others (and Chameleon has decided to claim all of them for himself, selfish prick). However, Jubei still has quite a few options in both categories, such as being a white or orange colored ninja and he could manipulate the elements light or sand (and wind if you don't count Smoke to manipulate said element).
</p><p>Now, white and light go together perfectly, not only because they are often associated with each other, but because they relate to Scorpion. You see, light often gives off warmth (like fire), and it's shown that the Shirai Ryu wear bright colored outfits (yellow for Scorpion, white/gray for Forest Fox). Interestingly Jubei's light and Hanzo's fire could also be seen to originate from opposite sides despite their similarities, as Jubei has heavenly lights to judge his opponents, while Scorpion has hellfire to punish his opponents.
</p><p>Orange and sand also fit very well together, as orange is a close color to yellow (which can relate to his father) and sand would most likely be his ability if he does go with the second name I came up with. Jubei could even manipulate wind itself and just use sand in these attacks, like an actual sandstorm. Along with this, a character who specifically uses sand for a power hasn't been seen yet in the franchise, so this would make him more unique in the series as well.

<h3><span class="mw-headline" id="Combat">Combat</span></h3>
<p>Jubei's fighting style is pretty simple to explain. Since he would be raised as a ninja like his father, Jubei's fighting style would be similar to Scorpion's, but it would clearly have some differences. For example: he could rely more on counter attacks, be more agile yet slightly weaker, use 2 Wakizashis (short samurai swords) instead of a single Katana, or -what I think would be unique and cool- combine the Shirai Ryu fighting style with elements of music and dance.
</p><p>You might be laughing at the last one or claiming that's stupid, but have you guys ever played Eddy Gordo in the <i>Tekken</i> franchise (sorry to anyone who hates <i>Tekken</i>)? He will fuck you up and look badass by using Capoeira, which is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. Not to mention, dancing can benefit in fighting by improving ones acrobatics and strength (why else do you think some football players take ballet). So, are there any real reasons why a character who uses a hybrid of ninjutsu and dancing a bad idea?
