Raiden is one of the worst characters in terms of morality since MK9 onwards, because all he has done is literally piss off the people that could have actually helped him.
Some problems are the He Must Win prophecy. Raiden could have been completely honest with Liu Kang about how he has seen past visions about the He Must Win message, as well as that if Raiden in fact, knew that Quan Chi is responsible for Hanzo's family's murders, he could have told Hanzo to just humiliate Bi-Han, and Hanzo could have been under Raiden's protection too.
Raiden also willingly offers to sacrifice his allies souls for Quan Chi as well. What angers me is that none of these characters fought to get themselves to suffer tragic fates. They fight so that everyone can have a bright future. And to see the one person that should have saved you sacrifice you like you are a dirt on his shoe is already a major red flag that he is absolutely not worthy for your friendship and trust. Imagine Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade being severely injured, then Raiden just left them behind.
Raiden also demands characters to be completely professional with him around and take things very seriously, but at the same time, expect them to treat him as an ally or a friend. This is a massive tonal mismatch because how do you expect people form a close friendship with you, when you don't even let them feel free to be themselves?
Also during chapter 1 of Mortal Kombat 11, Raiden deliberately celebrated Sonya Blade's death, in front of Cassie, Jacqui, and Johnny Cage himself. Why does he intend to celebrate a mother, and someone that could have been his ally's death? It is an intentional insult that cements his status as an unapproachable and untrustworthy figure.
It's especially for the fact that the Elder Gods clearly DO NOT GIVE A FUCK about Earthrealm at all and they never hesitated to display this themselves. The fact that Raiden still think they care is really frustrating. And what pisses me off is that the writers and Raiden expect us to believe that the Elder Gods are heroes that care for us too. When in reality, they clearly don't.
